Default My 1994 Granada Scorpio

Well I sold my '92 2.0 GLX H/B yesterday so today I went and bought this a '94 Scorpio with 79k. Apparently she used to be owned by the late Len Ganley the snooker referee.

Default My 1994 Granada Scorpio - UPDATE

Well since I last posted I have fitted a set of cossie wheels, removed the towbar and the old handsfree kit and changed the Ford radio/tape/cd player for a more upto date unit.

No it hasn't as it was one of the last models made, but I use to have to have a 1990 model which did have them.

Looks a good one. I've had two 2.0's and a 24v, and they all were great cars for the money. Comfy as feck, and the 24v was the best Ł800 I ever spent.
Seeing yours on the 24v wheels has got me looking at Autotrader.
Edited to add..I had an auto 2.0 and a manual. The manual made it a much nicer car to drive weirdly enough, especially with it being a comfy cruiser.

That's a shame. One of my dads last ones he got given when they where used as taxis was a 93 Scorpio like yours that had them fitted. He mainly got 2.0i twin cams that where either Scorpio or ghia specs g reg to l reg. He even got given a 24v cosworth in white . They where great cars back in the day, shame the mk1 mondeo's that followed where not as good.

My 24v hatchback was white. Didn't see too many in white.
The mondeo did struggle to go sideways like the granny did, hence why I never bought one back then.

I would love a 24v model but I would like one that's been converted to manual although I i'm not going to modify this one in any way that can't be put back, but I do know where the is a mint shell mius it's engine which would be ripe for a 24v conversion.

He did have a magenta saloon on a 91 H that was a glx with a boot spoiler on but it had silver bumpers and silver at the bottom of the doors. I don't know if it was a dealer special etc but I did see a j plate saloon in smoke stone that was the exact same but it was a 24v.

Seeing the white hatch is bringing back some memories. It was stolen. It looked a bit different being 24v, but the rear lights and general look is there. Some might say it's a bit strange missing an Ł800 car, but it was a hoot. It took us raving, and on fishing trips when I was about 20, and we did it in comfort at twice the national. Good times.

That is a very tidy Granada. I've had 3 of the 2.9 Ghia's and they were brilliant. The leather interior is fantastic, the comfiest car by car.

Keep up the work your putting in mate
Love the mk3s had about 6/7 lol but only 2.0l
Estate and hatchbacks
Before moving to the Scorpios, they are all oneof the most underrated cars imo
Enjoy

It's the only one I know of on the road around my area and I get alot of looks when i'm out in it. I've had quite a few people asking to buy it but i'd never get another as good and i'm also driving it more than my V6 CDTi Vectra.

I've bought a RS spoiler for my hatchback Mk3 and i'm looking for a bit of advise for painting and fitting it. I was going to do it with rattle cans for the mean time as a temporary job. Where would I find the paint code on my car? The spoiler is currently white so what would be the best procedure to prep it and paint it and then fit it.

Well I eventually got around to painting and fitting my RS rear spoiler, now to see if I can find an oil filter for the autobox.

I noticed that it looks like you removed the towbar? If so, do you have pics of the attachment points to the body? If it is still there, can you get me pics of the attachment points to the body?

I have this towbar for US spec Scorpio:

Am told I won't need these, something about my bumper or some such:

Any help on the install of this would be appreciated. It is going on my wifes daily driver, and needs to be physically in over a 3 day weekend, or less.

Thanks, Johnny

Sorry I can't help as I don't have the car anymore, but all I done was remove the actual ball part of the towbar.
