Default Introducing Ford Taunus/Cortina 2.0 v6

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Let me 1st introduce myself. My name is Dennis Bessems from Holland and I am 27 years old. Me and my wife are together for 8 years and on the 18th september our 1st son was born.

My biggest hobby is my 1981 Ford Taunus. I want to use this topic to keep you informed about the changes. Let start from the beginning, I bought this car 2 years ago. It was in pretty good shape, run 131000 km, but the previous owner had a stroke in the car and caused an accident. The car was damaged at one side. Some pictures from the start:

Bad side:

Engine bay:

The Fender is pretty damaged, i've sprayed it with some new paint for now but the plan is to replace the fender and spray the entire car in a new color.

But beside the color there is much more needed to make the car completely as I want it. So i've changed the wheels, lowered the car, placed a granada 2.8 spoiler, gt backspoiler, k&n filter etc.

A few pictures from how the car looks now:

And picture of how the damaged fender is sprayed for now:

And last foto with the taunus of my brother in law:

The plans for now are new color next year. Leather interior, chrome parts under the hood, other taillights etc. Once the car is completely as I want it i'm planning to change the engine to a 2.8 or 2.9. But for now the 2.0 does just fine.

Thnx, this weekend the koni red shock absorbers (it's that what you call it in English?) will arrive.

Do you have a topic of your Cortina with pictures, like to see more.

Sweet Taunus mate
We never got the 2.0 V6 over here, are they any better than the pinto? the 2.3 isn't all that great TBH (i have a 2.3 V6 cortina )
There seems to be quite a few Taunus's with those wheels on the web and very nice they are too

Did'nt post anything here for a while. Been very busy with the newborn and other stuff.

It looks very nice.... pictures from inside the car....do you have ?
Unfortunately I've no pics from the inside, will make a few soon.

Didn't do much on the Taunus for a while, the only thing that happened is that one of the fenders is replaced. Bad Pictures but the originall fender had a lot of rust and filler on it. So replaced with a 2nd hand in good condition. We've sprayed the fender with a aerosol (don't know if this is the correct word, don't know another word for it) in october this year the car will be completely resprayed.

Pictures of the old Fender:

After a lot of &#%@#$ the fender came off:

The old fender died in the process :

The new Fender:

-

Fitting:

There we're two spots that needed to be welded:

After this was done, i've sprayed the inner fender with Tectyl. After this the new fender could be placed. A few after pictures:

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, think my english is to bad. Sorry!

The wheels are 16'' 7.5j, the tire size is 205/45

I've no idea if the 2.0 v6 is better then the pinto's. I think not, because there are hardly andy v6 left in Holland, most of them are 1600 pinto's. Could ofcourse also be because they are sold more

Did not do much on the Taunus, detailed it good, i'm just waiting till oktober, then the Taunus will get a respray.

dank je, probeer er wat moois van te maken. Nog een half jaartje sparen en dan krijgt die na 30 jaar dezelfde lak eindelijk een nieuw laagje.

My brother is restoring a Taunus P7B 2.0V6.

I already received my Taunus back in April last year but totaly forgot to post it here. While I am at work right now I have only one picture available but I will post more pictures soon.

With the restauration there are lot of parts replaced, for example, two new fenders. Front and rear bumper are replaced with new one. New rear lights and much more. Let me know what you think of it.
