Anyone on here DJ?

Have fell away from it this past few months, done a few club nights around belfast and hosted a weekly radio show at university on student radio.

Started off a trance lover and moved to more underground sounds of house and techno - kind of coming round to trance again but still would mix more house

I've never DJ'd at a club but I know how to mix, got vinyl and CD decks
I started off with late 90s trance, don't like a lot of the new stuff

Used to love playing on the decks in the 90s round a mates house, used to be loads of us just taking turns. Would always seem to mix the Star Wars tune with drum and bass lol

I started off mixing late 90's and early 2000 Garage, and same era Trance, I then got into mixing Hard House & Hard Trance, wanted to start mixing in clubs so started an event, ran that for 3 years in London and off the back of it got to play for other events all over. I played at Moondance, Frantic a few times, Wildchild, Slinky, Sundissential plus loads of smaller events. They were the best days, proper buzz, I miss it loads. I sold my 1200's but still have loads of Vinyl and still have my CDJ 1000's

I have fond memories of mine & my mates older brothers mixing on their 1210's every Friday, pumping the air full of jungle & dnb! teaching us the basics.

Would love to give it a blast again, got some software off a mate but need a controller, don;t wanna spend mega bucks as I'd just be starting out but seen this;

https://www.decks.co.uk/products/dj-...Q#.V3qEeMkQOcR

would you veteran DJ's recommend this for starting out?

Yeah that wouldnt be too bad for starting out, though i think you will outgrow it quickly once the basics are mastered, talking from experience as i started on a similar controller and after a month or two was looking to upgrade.

Im selling my current setup, not meaning to advertise, but it (or something similar) would be a great startup setup to get into digital DJing.

two of these:

and this:

http://www.music-group.com/Categorie...DM4000/p/P0167

If its controllers you want pioneer do a lot of great ones, offering a lot of the features of the CDJ range but costing a lot less!

Just my 2 cents

Cheers for the advice mate!

they look like proper nice pieces of kit, although little bit out of my price range right at the moment.

Decided to give Logic a go - made a more dancey version of Ed Sheerans new song - might be able to use it when playing out if needed;

Been plugging away on the production side and we have managed to get our first track picked up by Solarstone! It’s being released tomorrow and is also a feature on this years compilation CD “Pure Trance 7”!

Hard to believe!

Great work, what's the track called?
I got back into trance lately, seems there's some good stuff being produced again.
I remember the classic Seven Cities from Solarstone from 1999 (V-One mix was the best version imo)
