It's a Honda I want mate, not interested in anything else so the Chinese ones don't even make the first hurdle. I've learnt that already ! Reliability is the name of the game as I'm going to be doing a fair few miles on it

to be fair the chinese copy of the honda 4 stroke engine is quite strong but its the rest of the components that are shite,,do you have a full bike license?if so should be fine on the motorway, there absoloutley bullet proof bought a mint one 10yrs back for £180 it was the cub that had the fuel gauge,we treated it like an off road bike and all that broke was the front mud gaurd because we fell off it every other day, only problem is when your mate knocks it into gear for a laugh while its running they also do a solid 55-60mph,

all i know about them is i spent most of my youth on one,
bending 5 frames from big air, mine was mega race spec, cg rear shocks, strenthened centre bar(struggled to lift seat to refuel though) kx80 nobblys, ss50 front end with renthal bars gaffa tape seat cut down exhaust pretty good field basher at the time lol, seriously cant go wrong with one though secure it well as security on them are very poor

had one, but C70 years ago as said bomb proof
I stole some txt. The Innova is Honda's replacement for the trusty C50/70/90 Cub range - this is important to remember as the Innova is very different to modern scooters and not close to any small motorcycles either; for C90 riders though it makes sense! The whole feel of the Innova, from manoeuvring in the shed to riding it is much more solid than a C90. The suspension, steering and brakes are great improvements yet still have the simplicity the C90 is famous for. The chain is fully enclosed and all-weather riders will appreciate that! The gearing is very different; the change is much smoother yet the C90 novelties are still there - how many bikes let you stop in 4th gear then shift directly to neutral? The Heel & Toe gear lever is usefull as is the dash gear indicator. First gear is much higher than a C90 and so more usefull, third is about the same as a C90 and fourth makes higher speeds more relaxed. In town, fourth is a bit high for urban traffic and this leads to the only real gripe about the Innova - low speed torque. At 30 in fourth, the Innova is not much above tickover and so to accelerate as you leave an urban area or to climb a steep hill you have to change down. The clutch on the Innova does not want to slip once you have pulled away wheras the C90 would use clutch slip for better accelleration - this might just be adjustment though? I have seen many moans about tank size and range yet once again, as a C90 update there is no problem. The only comment would be that the tiny underseat compartment would have been an opportunity for a 5 to6 litre tank? - Most C90 riders fit a rack and top box and I have done the same to my Innova. To sum up; a very competent commuter bike that should run for years with minimal cost. Not as stylish, fast or cheap as some modern scooters and not really a motor cycle - Hardened C90 riders will love it!

When I was a nipper me and a couple of mates had one that we used to bomb round a field, throttle was stuck wide open and the only brake was the engine cut out switch. Was brilliant fun, was regularly crashed, abused, put straight with a lump hammer, left out all year round in all weathers and it ran like a dream and only gave up when we sheared the front forks off somehow

I know how much you dislike mopeds/scooters from a previous thread chop but honestly they put a huge grin on your face and cost fuck all to run about in.
I've a had a few decent power motorbikes but my Suzuki 110cc moped just made me grin from ear to ear everytime I rode it. It wasted most things off the lights as well, awesome fun and £5 a week in petrol for 80-90 miles. Amazing what you can fit under the seat as well,no traffic jams and under £80 a year to insure. Fooking marvellous!!!! |

tax £15 ... mot £30 ... insurance £160 per year... full tank of petrol £6 or £7 ...
i dont blame you for wanting a moped tbh... only reason iv got mine is purely because i cant afford to run a car yet and they ARE quite fun . ONLY ped iv Ever own and will own, is a Yamaha Aerox though. Mine does 55, cubs only do about 40 :\ although i do remember seeing a tv show where they were fucking up a Cub90.... dropped it off a building and then run it over with a tank and i think it still started !!! >>> this- its like 5mins into it where the drop it>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaeKrqJJqm0 Last edited by Java=Blue; 10-05-2012 at 01:56 PM. |

I think I may invest in a bike now it looks like ill be changing jobs, a CG125 would be ideal for what I need! Although I wouldnt say no to a Gilera Runner, a mate of mine had one and it was SO quick for a ped! Used to be able to pop the front wheel up all the time!!
All those older mopeds are incredible though, definately built to last! |
