not sure these days but when i had several cars I had a laid up policy on one and i couldnt find an insurer that allowed you to earn NCD while laid up. So it was a bit pointless as the savings from earning NCD were more than the savings of dropping down to a laid up policy with the cover i had.
might be different these days maybe.

There's no laid up cover that will offer you 'slight' road use as well as laid up.
laid up to an insurance company means Fire and theft only
Mines covered for it's value and all of the parts including engine whilst it was in bits for £62 a year with Footman James.
You can use dayinsure for £20 a day for the days in between if that'll work out cheaper??
