Default Dyno Dynamics

Even though it seems everybody and their dog is buying a DD rolling road on finance and calling themselves a tuner these days it obviously was not enough as they have gone bust!

Allomak - the parent company have withdrawn financial support resulting in DD going into administration.

I have no idea how they went bust because manufacture wise there was a huge profit margin in those dynos.

Its a bit crappy really because all these people that are still paying thousands for their rollers, that they thought was going to be a fairly valuable asset now may be in negative equity.

If you cannot source spares easily and do not have the back up of a trading company the value off DD rollers will drop dramatically.

Nive one Mike I wasn't worried, I think prices of used DD rollers might have actually increased if new ones were not available

Never mind residual prices of Dyno's, how about support and parts for existing Dyno's? Thats surely the biggest concern?

is there an update to this, as I just recieved this email:

As you are may be aware, Dyno Dynamics are now no longer trading.
Dyno Torque has made contact with you to ascertain whether we can assist you with your prescribed service and maintenance requirements for your dyno
As your current software has a source code lock, we cannot help with calibration or software configurations, however Dyno Torque can offer you a retro fit, with our superior software upgrade, for your dyno should you require.
Dyno Torque software is windows based with an extensive list of features, not found on any other dyno software, one of these features included, as standard, is the ability to plot six (6) sensors on each pull, on the one graph.
Dyno Torque Software Plots
· Twin air fuel ratio lambda sensors
· Vacuum/ Boost intake manifold
· Power and Torque
If we can assist in any way please do not hesate to contact me by phone or email, for further details and information.
Regards,

Martin Brown

---

If they have gone pop Mike I would appreciate the source for the dyno software so I can develop some bits and pieces....

Not good!

Just spoke to Mike, everything is looking fine, its actually been bought by a new company, and they have a new edition of the software coming along :P

AlexF, go DD, best choice I ever made. Was looking at Mustang Dynos for about 6k less, but I am sooo happy when little boy racers say the 'dyno is reading under, my K&N should add ay least 90bhp' I turn around and say, yeh thats why BP have 12 sets of DD rollers for testing their fuel compounds... usually shuts them up! Don;t think I'd have that confidence with cheaper rollers.
