Default I wanna cry!!!!!

Good Morning All, firstly let me introduced myself as Zoé the proud owner of my 54 plate Fiesta ST which I adore but she's poorly and I don't know how to fix!!!

I've read various posts already and apologies if it's in the wrong section and/or being covered elsewhere I just need advice.

Currently when coming to a stand still at lights or junctions the revs increase upto 2k but after 30 seconds of hunting drops to approx 1300rpm which to me is still high.

It's been into the garage which I was first told it was an air leak somewhere, then it was the throttle body. My throttle body has been cleaned but it made it worse and then I got a second hand one of my mate. This was put on yesterday and again it's made no difference.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can anyone give me any tips on what I can do next.....

Thank you so much for any repsonse

Zoé x

Isn't this the Mondeo engined car? In which case I would be looking to the PCV pipe under the inlet as this can crack and cause the symptoms you describe.

As above.... pcv hose splits or valve fails and causes this. I would check first.

Where are you based? (I'm on my phone and it doesn't show location)

Matt.

Thanks for the Welcome Glenn.

From what I've read the Fiesta Mk6 ST doesn't have a ICV

The PCV seems to be being mentioned quite a lot so it could be an air leak from there but I would have thought the garage would have checked this.

Churtz - I'm up near Sheffield

I've read that the ECU could need an update as I would say that the car hasn't really been looked after that well.

Really wish I knew how to take it to piece and figure it myself as I hate relying on others to fix

Thanks everyone for your input

Zoé x

Welcome zoé, sorry to hear about your car, on most old skool cars you can adjust the tickover, but on a moden fiesta I wouldn't like to say, sorry to not be able to help.

The breather pipe under the inlet manifold is prone to splitting on the 1.8/2.0's. I'm in Sheffield and can have a look tomorrow if you can get it to me?
