Performance Ford - New Ed, hello!

I have every issue from number 1 to today, so keen to see it progress. Good luck with it.
Whereabouts in the country will the magazine itself be "based" from?
Also, do you have any particular companies you will be using for technical articles etc?
Cheers
Mike

Hello, and a good choice to come and say hello.
My issue with PF is really to do with the technical detail, lack of it combined with simple mistakes. A car mag should in my eyes be written by enthusiasts with technical sections being written by experts not fresh media/journalism graduates which was my take on events.
The last magazine I flicked through had numerous mistakes and any technical info had clearly been written by some one who really didn't know much about cars. Forget the scene thing as I don't think that's as important to Ford owners as the 'VAG scene' and focus on finding epic cars and doing write ups with solid information to impress.
As an example, I would far sooner read the un-colourful words of a motorsport engineer, than the meandering drivel of a journalist who's words were pretty but with out substance. Better still.... engineers write, editors adapt to sell. That way we get the info and the good read.
Best of luck, and hope to have some interesting articles to read in the future.

Rob,
We were well aware that the tech side was lacking, and that's something we've addressed significantly. We have new cars to work on and new ideas for tech stuff, all of which will be written by a man who has been in the mag scene for over 20 years. I can't say who just yet (wait for the May issue) but I'm sure some of you will recognise the name.
There will still be colourful journalism in terms of the feature cars, because for us, the story is the interesting bit - unless of course it's a car that celebrates a great deal of technical innovation. Too many features, in my eyes, read like a shopping list which I don't find particularly engaging.
Like I've said though, it's going to be all new as the May issue and I'm keen for feedback and input. Some of you have emailed me already, which I'm thankful for, I will be in touch.
Right, I'm going back to hide under a duvet and feel sorry for myself. Bastard man flu.

Thanks, and all points noted.

I've got to say though, for my self at least (and as a potential customer) colourful journalism doesn't get my sale. Car mags should be in my eyes about the car firstly and story time later. I look at feature cars to get ideas and understanding, I buy zoo to look at tits and read stories, the two don't always mix. I will look forward to having a read after May.
Good luck with the man flu!

Yeah this is true, there must be 1000s of cool fords out there. To be fair I wouldn't mind even seeing totally standard stuff someone's spent years restoring themselves although that may be against the "performance" part of the mag name I suppose. One thing I can't get my head round lately is ford focuses being parked and pampered in garages and only used for shows? Seems odd to me such a new car can't be used daily. Surely they must have sorted the rust issues by now? But then again if u own the car then it's entirely up to the owner what they do with it, after all they spent the money I suppose

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Would be nice to see some different variation of features in staid of the usual type ones. Something that isn't zetec'd or cossie'd or some track animal !

Happily retired
Its called 'Performance Ford' Glenn. Problem is that side of it is dead so you may be right page upon page of Stage 1 cars . If that's what you want & it sells then that's fine the bottom line is money for the publisher .
I hope you increase sales Chris & give these guys what they want but its not for me.
