Default WARNING EBAY SCAMMER username 'OLIVIAREDROSE'

Hi guys and girls just to make you's aware my friend has contacted this lad with his fiesta rs turbo that's described 'Nearly showroom condition' Everything original from factory' 'You will not be disappointed' so basically made out to be a original car and very tidy condition...

Anyway my friend has called as he's been after one for a while and has had a few of these cars, He called the owner and said "I would like to put a refundable deposit as long as its a tidy honest example with original panels, runs fine and how it is exactly as described in the add?" My friend was not expecting concourse but for a fiesta RS Turbo at '£5000' you expect it to be a really tidy example...

My friend was working tonight he said he would come in the morning and the lad with the fiesta said suggested "he would meet him at Carlisle for £180 transport fee" which was agreed... My friend put the amount of £380 deposit and transport fee into the seller bank cost so they both set off.....

My pal has met him in a petrol station and he and his partner noticed right away a dent in the rear quarter, door mouldings all wavy and hanging off , has said to the seller whose name is DALE JOHNSON from Leeds, user name OLIVIAREDROSE on ebay "Why haven't you mentioned the blatant dent on the coach line and the strips are a mess also the paintwork is terrible - and that is seeing it under a light never mind clear daylight! after you've told me and texted me 'the car is mint and only needs a door window seal and only 2 wee screw holes in the dash' and no oil cap and its had a smash at the front drivers side and the repair is shocking"
The sellers reply (after he must have thought my pal knew nothing about these after being told he's had a few was) "look mate I am desperate for cash its not that bad the paint is ok, just needs a quick polish.. I forgot about the dent and the oil cap is in the powder coaters and its only had a front wing but there bolted on..."but anyone who knows these cars knows there spot welded and the sealer on the slam panel in is about half an inch, The engine bay is a mess and my pal asked for pics but never received any thinking the guy was a genuine lad but clearly not

After asking for the £200 deposit back but for him to keep the £180 for recovery costs as its cost him so he's fair that way but the guy will not give his 'Refundable deposit'and has had nothing but abuse and slagging off the seller saying he's spent his deposit

Is there anyway of going about this legally or anyone who knows the lad to have a talk a tohim nd tell him to stop being a twat? My pals down £440 and with Christmas round the corner with kids isn't making life any easier.... and a refundable deposit should be returned he couldn't buy it through ebay as its a classified add or would have done.

Heres the add he has a few cars for sale so id avoid like a plague!!!

Thanks in advance for any advice or input and if can be shared over facebook as I am not on it but do not want anyone else being scammed by this scammer!

Been on eBay for a while I think, but why would your mate send over money before seeing it? Crazy

Tried the old bill?

it was a refundable deposit that then secures a car until the item, car etc has been checked and both argree on the condition is as decribed....

He's no bothered about the £180 transport fees but the deposit not returned after agreeing it, as for the police hes going to a small claims court tomorrow and the lad will have to go up to scotland to attend court and he has enough evidence to prove the seller was ripping him off.

Just looked at the advert it does look fairly mint but it's hard to tell from pics, he is obviously a scammer chancing his luck hoping your mate would just buy it anyway.

People like that really boil my piss, small claims is the only way to go

If the deposit was done via a bank transfer, would it be insured/covered? Has he informed them? If not.. could he inform them and they try and retrieve it?.

Seller is being a bit of a muppet to say the least. However,

My pals down £440 and with Christmas round the corner with kids isn't making life any easier

He's about to spunk £5k on a dodgy old Ford he doesn't need, don't play the kids/Christmas sympathy card lol.

Small claims court might be the way to go.

Good luck sorting it.

Sh!t&y thing to do, No one deserves this. I bet he's glad he still has the £4,500+ instead of no money to spend on his kids at X-Mas and a car he doesn't want.

Good stuff, as long as he has all of the communications I'd like to hope it should be an easy case.

Even if he ends up at £5 a month or something...

Probably chanced the sale finalising , was already skint, And used the money and now the sales collapsed hasn't got a pot to piss in again and there for can not physically pay it back. But he should have just waited a couple of days
