it's only worth what some ones willing to pay mate
it took me 6 months to get shut of my last one
but I wasn't in a rush to sell so held out for the right buyer and price
, if you want a quick sale and can afford to take a hit
then sell
stu

It could of been worse! As they say, its often a buyers market these days, especially if you mention "quick sale needed" or similar in the add.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
The buyer always wants something for nothing, or for rock bottom price
The seller always or often over prices it, or includes modifications when working out what they want for it, or they advertise it as ' mint ' and ' faultless ' when in fact theres always a few hidden demons.
Dog eat dog world, sellers out to get top dollar, buyers are out to get top bargain.
Theres some plank by me who sells cars at extortionate prices, hes got like 5 cars on one road (sure thats illegal?) anyone want a 51 4 door focus mk1 zetec for £1895, its not even taxed? This same guy offered me £750 cash for a 54 Audi A3 Tdi...

At the end of the day an offer is there for your consideration, all you can do is reject it, accept it or go back and tell them they'll have to do a little bit better than that!
In most cases the price a seller advertises that car is more than what they'd actually be happy to accept and a potential buyer's opening offer is less than they'd actually be willing to pay, so an offer is often just an opening figure to base a deal around.
Nothing wrong with that.

I would have tried for £2k myself, I would always try to "nick it" as they say.
I bought a peachy 944 recently, 4 owners, recent respray, good alloys and tyres and 60,000 miles with lovely history and a private plate, they guy wanted £3700 and I got it for £1000 after a cheeky offer and let him sit on it with time wasters.

My brother had it when he sold his Focus. Went for £1500 on eBay, a Polish chap turned up, holds his hand out with some notes in and says "800 pounds, my friend. No more!" Without even looking at the car. Brother said no, obviously, and without even looking at the car or haggling, got back in his mates car and drove off. Was on our drive for 10 seconds.
