total lack of concentration. the road has a long straight which is flat as a pancake and straight as an arrow for about half a mile then there is a long sweeping bend at the end. i looked up and the corner was there i knew i was going too fast for the bend. i didn't want to brake going through the corner so tried to carry the speed. back end came round sending me off the road side ways and through the bollards . car ended up 100m away on its side. the crater the car left was immense. i was on my way to meet my dad as we were going to pick up a motor bike. i guess i got excited and my mind was else where because i have taken that bend a thousand times. recovery company said when they collect cars in that condition the occupants nearly always have died. very very very lucky

it says "PAV Ł3750" which is pre accident value or what the insurance have paid out on it in other words. the cars are all on there for auction, my octavia was only on there a day though and vanished so not sure what happened to that!

Car is completely knackered, the pic does not show that the rear wheel has sheared off too, there is nothing on that car that in my opinion is salvagable, even the brake disks snapped, the engine block was smashed in the crash and when i was trapped there was a fire in the engine bay
Ł3750 is what they paid me for the car but i got Ł4200 in total as they gave me extra for the Audio equipment in the car.

Can lose upto 3 years I have found out, depending on who your with.

Hit a badger and wasted the front end of my passat I rang to enquire about a claim and they told me I would lose 3 years because it was my fault not the badgers, unless the badger had life insurance in which case they could claim.

This was with Direct Line. Ended up repairing the car myself, got it all done for Ł400 and quite a few hours wasted
