Any comments on this?

Seem to remember somebody saying a while back De-Ionized is better than normal tap water.......

Im just about to fill my cooling system, so was wondering....

I use de-ionized cos it probably wont build up rust etc like normal tap water does

There shoudlent be any air on the sideide of your coolant circuit anyway? So with no air, you wont get rust.

I dont know if Dionised water has a different SHC to normal water, but that'd be the only reason id bother using it.

DIW in the battery only - i wouldn't put in in the cooling system as the process of deioising it uses a high voltage passed through the water via a anode ad cathode, this pulls the metal particles away and leave the water charged -ve . put this in your metal engine and the water will try to reclaim some of its metal content and literally eat away at your water jackets . use normal tap water with the correct mix of antifreeze, usually 50/50 mix on fords.

If ya don't get rust or whatever, then why is it EVERY car I see with rad taken off - the actual rad is brown inside????
