Default 3 Lambda sensors failed

Over the past 4 months I have had 3 lambda sensors fail, Im running closed loop on my 4x4 saff, stage 3. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the failures? Also what does the managment do under closed loop conditions if the lambda is not returning the correct signals?

im sure if a lamda sensor fails it runs rich

are they genuine lamdas or aftermarket?

if aftermaket could be the heat destroying them

bit weird that.... im sure if the lambda fails it would revert back to the standard map...on stu's chip would still be about 0.90% c.o at idle

ive got a spare genuine lambda if you want to try it mate....?

The most likely cause is becuase you are running rich all the time. O2 sensor do not like it, their job is to stop it happening. However, if the mapping is too far out the O2 sensor can not do it's job properly.

If the sensor is left switched on when the engine is off it will burn out. Worth checking to make sure it switches off...

It runs closed loop witrh CO of 0.7% at idle when the sensor is working so its not running rich

That is at idle, how long per journey to you stay at idle?

I would get on a rolling road and check you fueling throughout the rev/load range. 3 O2 sensors in a row, that quicky, is more than bad luck.

Ive used the LS02 sucessfully on cars that have now covered over 30000 mile without incident, many of them are members of PF too, so you should be fine with that one.

When we made this system we tried lots of cheapo brand sensors and all had teh same problem, early failure.
