Cosworth power steering problems
Ok so ive had the underside of my 3Dr to bits and ive replaced the power steering rack and put it all back together and now my power steering isnt working, ive tryed replacing the belt as wishfull thinking. When i start the car theres no noise from anywhere and the pump wheel spins freely.
Im hoping ive just put the pipes in the wrong way from the pump, does anyone have a photo of the fluid in location on the rack?

Hi SGP. You don't need a new rack just to fix the leaks. You can get rebuild kits for them. The 2WD Saph rack is common with a Volvo 740 of the same time. IE - the seals, boots etc...are the same. I had mine reco'd here in Melbourne using a Volvo kit. The steering place I used cross referenced the rack details and presto we had a kit.

Some people run electric pumps off an A Class Merc and plumb that in but Jay found his burnt out so I think the electrics need a controller as they were designed to run at variable speeds do to load etc. They are about £120 on ebay and look pretty simple.
