Take it to your tuner. Unless it has a very weak spring in th waste gate you have a air leak.
You need to look at what your ecu is ment to be targeting and then work out if you boost valve is working.
And there is to little info on what you have said to be able to help you.
Has it been mapped and how long and was it ok before.

Hi Guys,
thanks for the replies
Mark,
It was just fixed and my tuner said it has to do with the wiring and fuel . Thats why I am asking if anyone has used a M800. I am sending it to the wiring shop to check whats wrong . Car has been acting strangely and the interior gauges ad battery connection goes off when i drive in the rain and have to call a tow truck.
Ooho,
Looks like we are heading in the same direction mate. Do you have your old ecu and loom? I am in need of one as i sold mine off and would be selling the cossie after this as I have a baby coming up .
This is my first cossie .
Jsa,
any idea if the motec would still require the fuelling ecu to be installed or would the Motec eliminate both ecu's.
For wiring , what would you check?
Thank you guys as i am based in Singapore and we don't have many cosworths around . Less than 8 on the road including the Ford Escort Cosworths.
thanks for the replies

M800 will do it all.
Map sensor & boost control solenoid for starters.
Sounds like you have bigger electrical problems, that need sorting 1st.
Not many cossies down under either.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I have used the M800 on turbo engine's, although that were Porsche turbo's.
I did use a wiring similar to the Cosworth engine and even used the Cosworth amal valve (boost control solenoid), which happens to be a standard Porsche part as well.
I had no problems getting it up to the required boost.
I used a new wiring loom from Motec and made that fit the Porsche engine.
There's no need for the original ecu to be in the car, not with the Porsche and not with a Cosworth engine.
Wiring can be found on the Motec site.

car was sent to the spray shop yesterday and I can't seem to post pics of the car here .
Cars radiator didnt have water but after topping up at the spray shop, it was idling ok.
My Tuner said, it has to do with wiring. I am using HKS to control my boost .
I am trying to get the car out of the spray shop in a week and would send it to the wiring guy, hope nothing is damaged.
The car does take engine oil and i have to top up occasionally . Is it normal ?

I am actually in Singapore and I am exporting the car to Sydney in the next 2 months as we have silly rules here in Singapore.
Yes, would ask them to check the map sensor and boost solenoid.

My tuner just tunes and he is travel all around the world . He has tunes my Porsche and my Mitsubishi Evo and we made good numbers .
In singapore , we don't have any good mechanics who can do Ford Cosworths.
My tuner said , it's probably a wiring problem.

What boost do you run at ?
Thanks

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
The Porsche engine is a 3.0L 4 cylinder turbo and runs a maximum of 1.3 bar boost with the standard amal valve and no external boost control (like the HKS you have). So there's little use for my maps here.
On Cosworth Group A engines I use up to 1.85 bar boost, but that is with air injectors and Pectel ecu's. Not much use for you either.

Why switch back to a "normal" spec, whatever that may be?
The Motec is a very powerful aftermarket ecu, as long as you let it control the boost and not use external boost controllers.

Find out why it did not have water in it.

I talked about this off line, I think the engine has a number of issues and needs someone that knows about YB's to give an honest review on what to do.
If anyone knows of someone in Singapore that he can go to I think it would at least give him an idea of what needs to be done.
Without it I fear a dead YB will result.

Hi mate i can't see what injectors are you using, you need to take a better picture but is the wiring cut in the one off the injectors? You may consider taking the car to Syndey they have some great tuners there, also they know the yb engines and surely they know motec ecus. If the car was sitted in a garage for years maybe rats have damaged the wiring? This engine seems it needs some tlc

Would take a better pic of the car , and would be getting all the wiring checked.
