Default Cosworth values

What's the general verdict with regard to the values of Sapphire Cosworths?
I've had mine since 1996 and if I had a pound for every time someone said 'they must be worth a fortune now' I really would be a rich man. Sadly not the case but I gather the values have started to creep up. It's a rather subjective question and of course there will be examples which you would not touch with a barge pole, others have been highly modified and some left standard.
I don't use mine but I would regret selling it. So what do we think, will we begin to see the values rise?

As long as there popular and in short supply as a good example they will go up. Good rwd ones must be worth 6-7 now. Some may say more but do they really sell for more lol

whether their standard or modified ,it totally depends on condition of the car .

still plenty of saffs about to put a modiifed one back to standard ,but its expensive game modifying a standard one

Exactly! Some one who knows what they want will pay what they consider is the right amount. It annoys me all the "experts" saying what someone elses car should be sold for!

Anything is only worth what someone is prepared to pay (RS500 anyone ?) but it's down to supply and demand in essence. As long as demand outstrips supply prices will rise, and with cars having been broken and neglected the pool of 'good' cars diminishes. As said, if people still want them prices will at the very least stay steady or likely rise.

The market dictates prices, not sellers.

I'd personally pay up to £10K for the right car, 4x4 or 2WD. I'd only go over that if the car was either very modified or a very very nice standard example.

If I ever sell mine I know what'll I'll ask for it. If I don't get what I ask I'll keep it - simples

AndyPen, nice looking low mileage car, were you tempted by the offer? Are the other cars in your photos yours as well?

£10k absolute absolute minimum, and if I were buying I'd expect to pay in excess of that. Stunning car fella
