Default Steering colunm bush & bolt flange bearing

I'm going to have a look at the column bush this week and have been contemplating using a bearing style fitting that was brought up in another thread on here the other month

The parts

The conversion thread

Has anyone gone down this route as it looks more like a fix and forget option?

Cheers

Looks a good way of doing it. There is a thread I've seen where someone has done it themselves, said it was very good upgrade to the original and steering feels a lot better.

Mart.

Had a look Jeff, will have to check mine and see how easy it is with all the dash etc in - is it just bolt that bearing down and fit the centre triangle bush and job done?

Forgot to ask and it's deffo the 25mm bore?

The bushes on mine have also failed and I too want to do the same mod.

Can the steering height adjustment still move once the mod has been done?

Is the bearing mounted on the inside by the footwell or on the otherside of the bulkhead. Which is better?
