The only ones I can see on ebay are Escort cosworth ones. Would they be the same as saffy 4x4?

The ABS sensors are the same as other ABS models, and MK3 Granadas, FOR 2WD.

I know the 4x4 ABS system is different, but are the sensors not the same?

You would be crazy to buy from Ford, or indeed even new as they are expensive, a second hand option is better, imo.

The scrap yard up the road from me is full of Granada's, Scorpio's etc - i'm going to check to see which ones match

Mine bust apart so i stripped the metal insert out and cleaned away all the oxidised alloy refitted the insert and built up with plastic weld and held with a zip tie, they have been like that for about 2 weeks now so i'll remove the zip tie and smooth the body and repaint black job done.

2WD are EXACTLY the same as MK3 Granny's or other lesser ABS equipped model, like most things, there was not a specific 'Cosworth ABS system', they all use the TEVAS system.

Although I am NOT sure on the 4x4 models/Escos (Someone has already stated the latter has different connectors) as I know these have a slightly different ABS system, but the 4x4 sensors may be the same?

4x4 Sapphire sensors are the same as 2wd cars. On Escorts the sensor is still the same, but it has a different plug where it connects to the loom.
