Default Bad vibrations

Hi guys my saff 4x4 cosworth has developed a really bad vibration at the gear leaver in 4th and 5th gear above about 40 mph, also whining badly until clutch is pressed, any ideas?

Sounds like the diff mate or clutch maybe

Hi, engine mounts are new vibra tecnic ones, the vibration from the gear lever almost shakes the car to bits, also the whining noise is worrying. I will get underneath today and have a look

As above I'd check the props, front and rear, pretty surprised if it's not related to this.

Cheers guys just had a quick look underneath and the bell housing has a crack in it 3/4 way round it. Now going to start to strip it down, but need to find out what caused that
