Default T5 Borg warner mysteriously fixing itself??!

This is strange, iv come to my car tonight intending to take the box out ready to fit new one tomorro night and after leaving it my lockup over weekend untouched moved it around into the bay expecting it to kick out of gear like it was doing whenever I let the clutch up and it seems 100% fine now. I took it out for a drive and I can giv it full throttle in 1st now and no problems, before it threw it out of gear as soon as I let the clutch up. Any ideas? Shud I take the box out anyway to put my second hand one in :S iv also noticed a faint bearing sound as I'm slowing down to a stop, it kindof sounds like brakes dragging but they aren't and it doesn't change if I'm in neutral in gear or clutch down. Gonna drop box oil at work tomorro and see what it's like with fresh stuff in. I still don't no why it would seem as tho first gears gone one night and then seem fine the next!?

Personally I'd leave it, after sticking some nice gear oil in it, 75W90, the noise could be due to low oil ?

That was one of my next questions! What oils best for it? Our cossie man at work reckons they used to use auto gearbox oil in the Borg warner and said the motorcrafy ATF we have in stock should do?! Iv just ordered up some valvoline 20w50 engine oil too coz I was told I'm best using the thicker stuff so do u reckon that'll be ok?

Stil can't work out why it wouldn't stay in 1st gear on night and then sort itself out another day, could that be down to low oil too?!
