i think you dont need them unless you are going over 700bhp or massivley increasing the revs on your cossie
other than that they LOOK ok but as to wether they are or not is a different story

I think they are cheap chinese rods, not well produced and not subjected to proper quality control procedures.

I would happily use standard YB rods for upto about 600bhp, and beyond that I would be paying proper money for a set of arrows, not putting cheap shite in.

You will find people on cheap rods without a problem at 800bhp in various 4 cylinder engines, but you will also find a smaller number with problems from cheap rods.
With arrows, you wont find anyone with problems caused by the rods, as they are proper.

If its a big power build than the 500 quid extra for a set of arrows is VERY cheap insurance IMHO

PS

I'm not a snob by the way, although I had arrows in my nova engine, my cheap and cheerful corsa engine by contrast has similar cheap steel rods to the ones pictured, but thats cause its not making massive power and its not full of very expensive components, so no need for arrows as I can afford a failure as the engine doesnt owe me 10 grand in the first place
In the case of a YB though, the standard rods are good anyway, so no need to replace with cheap steel rods, i only put them in my corsa engine cause the standard rods are so bad.

So to sum up, 300 quid rods in a 2 grand engine build = fine, but no point in a YB
300 quid rods in a 10 grand engien rebuild = stupid

IMHO
