I would ring the breakers, I have been hunting for a new one, as someone owes me one and can't replace it as we can't find one.
The one I let him have was brand new still in the wrapper too!!

If its a genuine 'blue top' (YBT) cam cover it will have the screw thread type....It must be a 2wd which has been painted at some point if it has the bayonet type....

It is a 2wd wouldn't have thought its been painted - what is the difference anyway between the red and blue top - apart from the Oil filler cap?

The actual colours of teh covers denoted which variant each YB was,
Red - bayonet oil filler = YBB & YBD? (2wd)
Green - screw oil filler = YBG (Saph Cosworth - unleaded pre-cat??)
Red - screw oil filler = YBJ (Saph Cosworth - cataylst)
Blue - screw oil filler = YBT (Escort Cosworth)
As tabetha says i think oil filler cap aside i believe that all covers are the same, apart from the Escort Cosworth, i was told that they may are slightly thicker material to allow for breathers etc??, not sure if true?

I think the question was referring to the actual physical difference between the covers, not the paint colour ?
