Sometimes the thread in the plastic insert in which the switch goes strips it's thread allowing it to move away from the pedal meaning lights on all the time, had this once.

twist the switch and it will pop out
press it to make sure it's the switch that's the problem
then refit it, remembering that it will shift in/out with the pitch of the thread so you'll have to adjust it accordingly when refitting
