Default SAF COS 4X4 CAMBELT TENSIONER

HELLO EVERYONE IVE GOT A K PLATE 4X4 SAPPHIRE COSSY WHICH HAS DEVELOPED A STRANGE NOISE! WHEN STARTED FROM COLD MAKES A STRANGE CLICKING NOISE WHICH APPEARS TO COME FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE (ITS NOT THE TAPPETS) AND IT APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORSE AS THE WEATHER IS GETTING COLDER IT LASTS FOR 2-3 MINS AND THEN GOES AWAY .IVE SINCED NOTICED THAT WHEN THE CAR GETS HOT THERES A LIGHT SQUEELING NOISE COMING FROM THE SAME PLACE ,I PRESUMED IT WAS EITHER THE AUX(FAN) BELT OR THE TENSIONER SO I CHANGED BOTH AND ITS MADE NO DIFFERANCE! THE CAM BELTS FAIRLEY NEW BUT THE TENSIONER ISNT ,JUST SOUNDS LIKE A STRANGE NOISE FOR A TENSINER BEARING TO MAKE TO ME BUT I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE IT COULD BE . ANYONE ANY IDEAS ?
MANY THANKS PAUL

I know my timing belt tensioner squeals a bit in the cold weather. As soon as its warm The noise goes away.

Yeh fingers crossed mate. If it still does it when the engine is all built back up,from when you have changed the timing belt tensioner. I would remove the alternator belt and then start the engine to see if the noise is there. Then remove the pas belt and see if the noise is still there. By doing this you will be trying to find out if its the alternator or the pas thats at fault.
