Default Idle problems

My sapph has jus developed a really annoying idleing problem. The car sometimes stalls when pulling up at junctions.

I thought it was the ISCV so i took it out, took it apart, soaked it on petrol, reassembled and it seems to have helped a bit, but the car still tried to stall. i revs up and down between 300ish rpm (lowest i've seen) and 1000rpm. Does that a few times then settles.

I'm guessing its the ISCV that need replaced as the car drives fine apart from that?

Oh incase it matters, that car is running the RS 500 inlet setup on a pectal super 8 board by turbosystems.

The fact that it can drop to this low(300rpm) level means that the base idle is way too low, so first you need to reset this to around 850/900rpm, via the brass screw/locknut located on the underside of the throttle housing.

I tried to adjust the idle screw, but it was very tight so i didn't try my luck and break it!

Did you undo the locknut prior to trying to turn the adjusting screw? These locknuts are sometimes pretty tight and awkward to get on!

14 mm I think if memory serves correct.

Ok, just figured out the idle screw is sunk into the throttle body, i'll give that a blast, see what happens.

Adjusting that screw seems to have made the car pull alot harder than it did before?

Is it possible the iscv was fucking things up?

Oh it sorted idle too lol

the 4x4 does not have a locknut on the idle screw.

unplugg the iscv before the base idle is set. then reconnect it.

the iscv is simply a correction valve, it should adjust the idle speed if the desired idle value is not acheived.this can be cold start ,or if load is placed on the engine at idle, ie headlights.
It is not supposed to hold the base idle, so by unplugging the valve at idle wiuth the engine hot,it should have no effect on idle speed ,if the idle drops the base idle is incorrectly set, or the tps is incorrectly set up, and holding the iscv open.
