Oh fuck I give up on that eBay store, can't find the oil filters

Anyway, is it the tall filter or the short one on a 4x4 Cossie or can it take either?

You need the long one for a 4x4 because it doesn't have the oil cooler thingymajob the 2wd cossie has, which prevents a long one being used on the 2wd.

Put sealant on the sump plug threads and it stops all the drips too.

If you had cut open a BRAND NEW EFL 298(cos 2wd) filter as I did, you might think twice about using them, I certainly will try to find a decent alternative from now on!!

Very small filter media area, and rust inside the brand new filter.
This filter had sat in my garage for a couple of weeks, in a SEALED UP FOOD BAG(freezer bag), as I put things in these to stop dust/grit etc getting to them, so had never got wet.

So I'm dying to know, why did you cut the filter open?

Just to see what they were like internally, not sure I wanted to know as used to have faith in OE filters, not Ford ones anymore I don't!!
The one I cut open had been POSSIBLY contaminated, with iron filings, as had a bit of a mishap making some thermite!!
