Default Heaters

Ive finally upgraded to a sapph 2wd with stg 3 tune, from an erst and can say its the best thing ive ever done, but was wondering if any one has any problems with the heaters not getting very hot. Mine are sh**e even when the temp gauge goes up. Also does any one know where the gauge should sit at normal temp and at what point the fan should come on.

My Saph is BOILING hot I have to drop the window nearly all the time, same as my old one.

Temp gauge sits between the O and the R on mine.

Could be your thermostat or shit in the heater matrix/radiator.

Open the plug on the Rad and put a hose through the header tank and try and flush the crap out. Easiest job and the cheapest to start with

Even easier let car idle so fan comes on then check as you know it is up to temp then, if still crap check pipes going into heater nice and HOT, if both hot try flushing, or disconnect pipes plug or join them and let car sit with bleach in overnight, flush very well next day, if still not fixed check BOWDEN then if all ok change matrix Ł30ish.
They are not the most awsome heaters in the world anyway, MK3 astra!!, my god they cook you well.

Honestly my 2 cossies I've owned have been unreal for heat, I always run the blower on 1.

But it's like nuclear meltdown, cue the sunroof open and the window dropped even in this weather.

Default heaters

Thanks for info, my temp seems to sit just out side the red when ive been on a drive and let it idle. it never goes in though. Im gonna try a new thermostat sounds like it could be that. Any idea where they are situated on these. Thanks.

the gauge senders are not the most reliable of things and one to the next will read different on the same engine, as for the water pump dripping, its knackered change it!

temp used to be between O and R but when i changed to a pace radiator it sits between R and M, fans usually come on arond the N.

Mk3 astra TD, will actually burn your face off, unless you blow it up first!

Mine sits between the R and the M and the heater doesn't get hot very quickly, shamefully the heater in my Nova is much better
