I'm going to look at one on Saturday, its a '98 1.7 is there anything to look out for. I know the quarter panels rust in front of the back wheels. Any info would be helpful.

yeah if it's done 80,000+ miles ask if it's had a clutch, and ask for proof, if it hasn't youre looking @ £350 if you have to get a garage to do it, same goes for the cam belt, that's another £150+ for a garage to change it,
also seen a few on ebay with the head gaskets gone @ 100k + so check for water in the oil, oil in the water, unless you know what your doing walk away

I'm in antrim mate if you want a nosey around mine mate. Had mine a year and a bit, due a clutch anytime (118k miles) archs need redone but otherwise its been great.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I had one great car , rear arches and bait of the sill were rushing away quick though but the engine is now I my zetec s and it done 154k and still goes well and it's not hanging out of it's arse , the only thing that I had a prob with was dirt on the sensor in the air flow meter but carb cleaner sorted that.
