Fiesta Zetec s Puma conversion
Can anyone help?
I was informed on here that the puma 1.7 engine would fit straight in to my fiesta zetec s so i set about fitting it, i was told i needed the puma engine loom and this would plug straight to my existing loom and then i would need to swap Ecu, key & transponder, however this appears to be nonsense as the looms do not plug together!!! Totaly different!!!
Is there anyone there who actualy knows about this conversion and has actualy done one and not just day dreamed about it?
If so can you let me know how i get round this problem, i was thinking that i would maybe need to fit the compleete puma loom?

Does the bay loom plug into ecu or fuse box?

Ehi guys, a question
I bought a FRP ecu and is TAPE (digi or analog compatible)
I bought also a digital dashboard (the instrument cluster) and wish to use this.
I actually have an analog dashboard with MUFF ecu.
I wish to swap all with the new ecu and the new digital dashboard.
Do I need to buy the digital whole loom with cables/switches/wirings too?
Thanks! I cant find these info and if some1 got and can share is very appreciated preventing me wasting my a$$ in a new engine loom!

got also the key with transponder supposely inside the key, the ebayer included the keys for a plug & play swap (he wrote this easy upgrade)
My question was if I needed also the entire engine loom, anyway I bought it for safety to prevent surprises during the swap.

you need a transponder ring for ignition barrel otherwise its useless all you need is engine side of the loom as it comes with the vct side and the ecu bits
just remove the 2/3 plugs out of the fuse box and plug in the engine loom
then swop the transponder ring on the ignition

Can you confirm me all this?
I want to have a clean analog to digit conversion with all the switch and spies working.
Transponder ring is not universal... I read... have to check how could be programmed.
Do I need the transponder ring of the old ecu or of the new ecu to make the swap?

shouldnt really as you are only running the same interior features as you would with both digi loom the only thing i would check to confirm this is the speedo fitting if that fits with the loom as is its all good if it doesnt you will have to put a whole digi loom in that includes new indicator stalks aswell as they dont seem to like the switch over

Yes I think I need to swap all the cabin loom cause as you saying, and one guy that has parents who works in Ford Motors told me, that plugs are different but switches are the same like the engine too, and btw Im reading here
http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...25978&get=last
luckly no need to be reprogrammed, I just need the right model transp ring
And I already bought a digi dash too to put on.
I should have all.. didnt know about that key ring.
Can you explain me what is his function during the ecu swap?

the transponder ring on the ignition barrel recognises the signal from the chip in the key that matches to the ecu to allow the imobilser to turn off without that your a bit buggered

Do Ill need the ring during the removal process of the old ecu or during the installation of the new?

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I done the conversion , but I had both cars as the puma was not digi dash , so it did male hard work of it , but if you have the right loom then it's as good as plug and play , my cars up for sale if you fancy one done lol
