bag comes with it and its really fiderly, instructions are good but fitment is crap, rob @ssc has had to make a bracket up,

ive been messing about with mine for weeks and finaly got it perfect,

dont forget disconect your battery, then go for a 30min drive cycle so the ecu can get use to the extra air,

or you will get boost problems like i have,

still havent had time to do the drive cycle

Default filter

disconnect the battery - is that to reset the ECU so it goes into learning mode??

when you say its a crap fit, what are the problem areas?

am doing bluefin and a DV36 dump valve and stainless steel boost pipes all at the same time - is it wise of me to do that?

dont do dump valve unless its a re-circ to replace the standard one, you will gain nothing apary from stalling and over fueling, if you like the noise you will hear it through the filter, trust me thats loud enough,

the bad fitting is just make sure its sealed and there is no air leaks,

the filter pipe is smaller then the standard hose if you get me.

ye disconect so the ecu learns it, do it everytime you add a mod or if you have bluefin, re install it.

Default dump valve

i thought if i fitted it properly- with stainless steel boos pipework upgrade and samco's and used a top quality dv36 it would all work out ok, then put bluefin on and drove the car in learning mode, all should be ok

hi

fitted filter - parked car on edge of the kerb so i was able to get underneath no probs !!!

took battery tray out to ease access !! K&N instructions are not exactly the best in the world !
got it on and took my time to make sure no leaks etc - took car out and the sound is awsome !
you can hear the turbo and the non atmos DV as well !!!
as the battery has been off car is in safe mode - anyone know how long this lasts??
its stalled twice when i fitted it before i took it out - but this is to be expected i suppose

yes !!

just disconnect the battery for bout 30 mins, then re connect, this will put your car into learning mode - drive the car for about 30 mins, in this time the car will learn its getting more air, and adjust the mixture accordingly
this should solve your probs.
this was advise given to me on here and on the RSOC website and it worked
let us know...

nope still no good - did as you advised and it's still not right.

It'll pull like a train through 1st and 2nd all the way to the redline - then in third it gets to 5000rpm and starts to cough and tries to suck more air but can't

In 4th it's the same but for much lower in the rev range????

I'm running it with a decat pipe and no dump valve at the moment - I've also got the stainless turbo boost hoses. Can't see why this would stop it working tho.

Can anyone help???? I'll try just about anything.

ok if your car was running fine before it has to be something to do with the filter

check the u clap connection is on straight and the air flow meter and sensor is on correct and that the plug is correct

take out the battery tray to allow direct access to this - make sure all your pipes are ok- no kinks etc, as you have a dump valve, check the blanking plug is still ok

Cheers Doug!!!

Drove to work this morning and it's all fine??!!!

Just wonder whether it's the icey cold air??? Could it have been causing lack of detination in the fuel?

It's a bit warmer this morning and it pulled all the way to the redline in all 4 of the gears i used - Ran out of road!!

Performance was amazing!!!!!

Will check all componets as you listed tho just to make sure - if i take the battery out again am i going to need to do another install run??

you will if you take off the battery, i just found it easier to take out the battery for access - you can access from underneath, i drove mine to the edge of a kerb, with the front end hanging over so i could get underneath and access was ok - beats using jacks and axle stands !
its fiddely getting in there, its not the best fitting bit of kit, the bits i listed are the ones to watch - i took about an hour tripple checking the bits as these are the ones that will cause the car to run bad

Also it can run and you will have no power gains if there are any air leaks..

My K&N fitted as per what was provided with NO probs at all, has been on for 18months. After fitting my de-cat, Gen II + BF the car ran fine then the following week I fitted the rest of the Mongoose, car was crazy fast for about a day then ran like a complete bag of shite, wouldn't idle etc, but after a couple of days driving it was fine, so I know it's anoying but bear with it!

Loads of people have had probs with atmos DV's, I would and have just replace the standard Bosh re-circ with a DV-30.

Found the source of the problem!!!!!!

Not the Gen II at all!!!!!!! I had a leak on the Intercooler to charge cooler pipe so had no coolant - so it was trying to force hot air into the intake manifold!!!!!

Anyway - topped up with coolant and sorted the leak. Now it's

And WOW - it's a full 18MPH quicker at redline in all of the 4 gears i've used!!!!!

So for a Decat and K&N thats a massive improvement - Bluefin next!!!!

Got a feeling that it may have been low or empty for a while and the increase in air volume that was Hot instead of cold must just have caused the problem!!

Tis strange i agree!!

Getting one of these things tomorrow. Already got a full Mongoose/de-cat, cant believe how much difference that alone made!

Roll on the weekend, more noise, more speed!
