Egr blanking plates
My 02 1800 TDCI Estate has a vacuum operated EGR Valve,i want to blank it off, does the blanking plate fit between the valve and manifold? In other words does the valve remain in place?
Thanks Paul

Misunderstood?
Perhaps i've worded my question wrong, does the blanking plate fit between the manifold and egr valve or do you fit the plate and leave the valve out/disconnect it?

egr blank off
hi I have an 02 1800 tddi and blanked of my egr valve ..got my blanking plate off ebay at a good price ...and yes you do have to leave the valve in place ..all I did was slacken off the 2 10mm nuts and slide the blanking plate in ...which I must add the holes in the plate are slotted for easy fitting

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Yeh same as above I fitted mine 4 weeks ago and no smoke and seems more responsive,
Fidly to fit tho, dropped mine and it wedged in behind starter motor , right cunt I had to remove all under tray n starter motor to release it, a 20 min job was 2 hours lol

Out of many, we are one.
I read up that if you want to remove the valve completely, the downpipe and cat have to come off to allow you to remove it.
I couldnt be asked with all that hag so just bought the stainless steel blanking plate from eBay, dropped the two 10mm bolts (I left a few turns on it), pushed the pipe down and slid it in. Took less than 10 minutes.
Peformance etc, the EGR operates iirc at low RPM. My focus feels more responsive and smoother with the blank in place, I've also added the ST170 airbox, snorkel and KandN filter which some say increase airflow significantly.

When buying the plates, you'll notice there's ones with open cuts, some with one bolt hole and one cut and some with two bolt holes.
I bought the one with two open cuts so I didn't have to remove any bolts (could just slide in).
