Yes you can, you just need to change the calibration to let the ecu know the flow rate of the new injectors.

can this be done mate.on my 600 rover you can't do anything with the ecu i had to add 4 more injector's running off a hks injector controller
this is how i got more fuel .it would be easer to just add bigger injector's in the cossy.what would happen if you just put bigger injector's in?

Yes, eec-iv's (and eec-v's) have two calibration settings for the injector size, HIGH_INJECTOR_SLOPE and LOW_INJECTOR_SLOPE. The first is the actual size of the injector and the second is an adjusted figure to take into account of injector opening/closing times at small pulsewidths. The 'COSY' ecu sets these two settings to the same value (some Cobra ecu's do the same) whereas most ecu's have different values.

As Azrael said you would run too rich. The adaptive learning of the ecu would try to correct for the extra flow of the injectors and whilst it may cope at idle and part throttle I'm not sure if it would cope at wide open throttle. I read a Mike Wesley article a while ago that said the adaptive learning only has approx + or - 25% percent capabilty on the airfuel ratios and this too could lead to fueling problems.

Why? Looking at your other cars, you obviously like to tinker with them. If you are running out of dutycycle on your injectors you need to turn the boost down or upgrade the injectors (another way is to up the fuel pressure but has all the side effects of changing injectors but also risks overloading the injector drivers). What's the spec of your car?

I've been after this for a while too. The ecu code has a value of 18707 but I'm not sure of the scaling factor or the units (probably lb/hr or metric equivalent). Searched the net with the part number but nothing comes up

Sounds good, but can you get that kind of detailed info at Ford?
