The front n/s drive boot is cracked on my escort. Does anyone know the part number for these or better still does anyone on here sell them? They're not listed seperatly at my ford dealer. He said i might have to buy the whole shaft They are listed for the mtx75 box but not sure if they are the same. i also need the clips.

they are available separately,sounds like your parts man doesnt know much cant remember the no;s but im sure someone will,they come boxed complete with new clips and sachet of grease as well

the outer joints are available i think but the inner's aren't i went today ...

i just had to fork out for a new built up shaft £200

surely somewhere else must do them then ,if fords have stopped supplying them? soon you wont be able to get a damn thing for them

Cheers lads I rang another ford dealer today a bit further away from me. He was checking availability today and he'll ring me back tomorow. Looks like i'll be able to tell him now. Its just the outer one thats gone but it would be handy to change the lot while i'm at it. As Aaron said surly a spurious one is available from an auto factor.
Hey Dave, What else would you buy ? I have a fierce horn lately for an E60 530d. i know i'd miss the escy though if i sold it.

i tried a motor factor too they said they dnt sell the joint OR the boot seperate!

hence me buying a full shaft

that is fookin ridiculus - a new drive shaft just to get a a 2.50 rubber boot,

you must be able to adapt a normal escort/mondeo type one FFS?!

i used sierra xr4x4 gaters on mine fit spot on £12 from my local motor factors

well went today and the shaft was only £160 in the end so i'm gonna fit this one then send the other to be redone as a spare

cos im worth it

was in Halfords yesterday getting some metal polish, while i was in i asked about these boots for Escort Cosworths, they can get all of them still and within a couple of days and only about £7 each! not bad at all!

Just get measurements for the damned boot and get one from any car parts place. Or do you want me to send you one from Poland


By the way - if you're REALLY desperate for outer front joint for Escos - Fiesta XR2i one fits, it's not 100% te same but I've done some extreme driving with one ftted and it lasted some time.

Ford dealer rang me back during the week and they're not available in Ireland or UK at the mo so he has to order them in from Germany. He'll have them in a weeks time. Changed all the petrol line clips under the car today, the old ones were in shit.
