I just use super unleaded with a shot of lead additive.
Runs fine.

You should use 98 octane with lead additive

You dont need a lead additive

see

www.pumaracing.co.uk

to be precise see the below page but the rest of the site is gold dust too

He really does know CVH's inside out as well

I used mine with SUL and a Broquet Fuel Catalyst to be on the safe side and valves and head were in superb condition when I inspected them on a 110000 mile engine, which incidentally still put out the factory power on the RR

That depends on the condition of your engine. Old engines may run fine without, but new built engines shouldn't run without!

It don't cost much so don't care about and pour it in!

I'd expect a 'new built' engine to have the inserts in the head anyway..but I would still be happy running SUL and no additive anyway on an alloy head cvh engine......the camshaft, followers, and all the other ancilliaries will be scrap long before the head even starts to get damaged if at all

Super-unleaded is best for your engine, but if your head hasnt been converted to run unleaded with hardened valve seats you'll need to use a lead additive

You dont. Read what Dave says. It's bourne out in practise...Also a fule catalyst such as a broquet is an alternative to lead additive.......trust me it's safe. I've seen it used on vintage cars worth up to half a million pounds, and i'm pretty sure the owners werent taking a gamble
