I would say the idle speed has been set super high to avoid the common stalling issues but this can easily be fixed, Miles at pug racing can set them up properly, often it is a cheap fix.
These are good investments right now as they continue to go up, great fun!
Company in Sussex just sold a time warp spec one for £11k so someone should grab this bargain.

Do a free advert on pistonheads and maybe eBay, it will soon sell I am sure.
I will keep an eye on the 205 forums and let you know if anyone is looking for one.

It looks a little cracker, outside opinion looking at it...
Pictures don't set the best scene, wants to be clean and shiny and in a nice park or country lane, set the scene of a weekend toy which these tend to be now, currently looks a bit 'dumped in a back street'.
I would also address the idle, and clutch issue as reading the description you mention being a mechanic then haven't sorted 'simple fixes', this would make me think they weren't simple and would also make me think 'I have to pay someone to sort those' rather than just buy driver and enjoy!
I would also get some vanish carpet foam and get the carpet scrubbed, 10 minutes would see that looking a stack better, or £20-40 valet inside and out and off to the nearest beauty spot for some pics.
These cars are bought now imo for nostalgia and so it needs to looks tempting and 'the one to have'.
