I'm open to sensible offers.
The car is a nice example of a modified xr2 with a twist.
Ideally I don't want to split the project apart in terms of parts etc, I'd like to sell as a job lot.
Would make a good track car.
Cheers
Dean

That the whole point of an unfinished project though.
the price started at what i thought was a realistic price, due to condition, mileage, modifications. Id seen a standard low mileage car go for Ł4000, so pitched my car at what i thought was realistic for my car and its current unfinished state. All the parts are ready to fit, its not too much drama for someone, maybe a weekends work to have engine running.
i dont have the facilities anymore to complete the project, else i would of finished it ages ago and would of been enjoying it. But thats not the case, double edged sword is if i finished it myself after all these years of ownership id probably keep it, but ive not got the room or money to run more than one car.
ive knocked Ł750 off the original price since last year. If i were to slot engine in id want more money for it again due to it being a runner again and mot. Hence why the price reflects the work involved.
i had a guy contact me just for engine recently, who was prepared to pay up to Ł3000 for a replacement engine for his xr2 rally car, i said "buy it", your getting the car for free!
Just cant get my head round it as to why its not gone, its no biggy putting the engine in for someone, the engine is complete ready to go on an engine stand!

Thanks all the same, but no p/x thanks.
If people are interested in certain parts of car, and can all meet in the middle, so as long as the whole car sells, that's possibly an option.

Whatever you do don't break It, I know you've had her up for sale for a while but there's someone out there who will buy her whole and put her back on the road. Looked at this heaps of times and she's stunning and a credit it to you. Personally I think you should put her back in the garage and just finish as and when you can cause I will put money on you will kick yourself when you see her leave

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
IF and i say IF loosely You do break it i will 100% take some parts inc trim & spme running gear parts. I think the shell alone would do 1200 / 1500 on ebay plus the trim plus engine would sell then you got your Ł2500,

Serious offers around Ł2500 mark, half what mike brewer sold his for, lol.
And mines lower mileage, shame its not standard, but its tastefully modified with ford parts only.
Come on!

Whilst there is no doubting it's in amazing condition, to answer your questions as to why you have had it so long, it could simply be because these cars are getting to the stage of being that sought after, that people only want originality, if it was the standard colour with black bodykit etc and standard trim, I think you would have sold it a long time ago.

Clearly I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place!
Back in the 90's it was the norm to modify a car, especially with all the Ford tuning companies.
I've had the car for 19 years now, and I've outgrown it, theres mega potential for the car in its current state or if someone eventually decided to put it back standard which with some work would be achieveable. The mileage speaks for itself from this point of view.
Someone could easily take on the project, sell on the parts they don't need and do what they want with the car, its just obviously I can't cater for everyones specific needs from a car, it is what it is. The cars worth the money I'm asking all day long and people know it, its just for some maybe an unknown quantity or not standard, which I can't do anything about.
I thought it would of sold by now, might put her on ebay for a wider audience, but thought this was the place to put it. Depends what the buyer wants from a deal, and can see the potential in the car. I even have the original interior in my shed.
Got to go this year, or I'm toast with the mrs, but I'm no desparate seller, lol.

I think it looks great. If I had the money I'd be on it like a tramp on chips. GLWS
