1989 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9

1989 Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9
1989 (G) 1.9 GTi in Silver.
87,000 Miles
MOT until middle of March 2013 (no advisories whatsoever).
Currently untaxed.
I've got some history with the car including some old MOT's and receipts for quite a few £££. In the early-mid 2000's quite a bit of money was spent on the car by a previous owner and it was semi-retired into a weekend fun car, then from 2006 until earlier this year it was dry stored, then as above with very little work it passed its MOT without any advisories.
The car itself is very straight and honest. I have paperwork from an AA vehicle check. There's no adverse history or anything attached to the car.
As these are galvanised they tend not to have too many rust issues like most other cars of this era, especially French ones! I think it's had a new off side front wing at some point, but that's about it. Other than the odd chip and tiny dent which is only to be expected of a car this age, the body is very good and it's a very attractive-looking little car indeed.
The interior is good too. There's some wear on the drivers bolster, like most of these probably have, but overall it's very tidy and the seats are lovely and supportive.
The car drives great. The engine is seriously lively, the gearbox is nice, the brakes work very well and it sounds absolutely fantastic.
All four tyres have loads of tread on them. The original Speedline wheels look great on the car and are straight, but could do with a refurb.
Anyway, I'll let the photos tell you the rest.
The price is £1800 with no offers. It's already keenly priced. It's not perfect, but when perfect, micro-mileage examples have fetched five-figure sums recently then that's only to be expected! I think you'd struggle to find one that is in clean and presentable condition, sensible mileage with a long MOT with no advisories for this kind of money. It's a pre-cat 1.9, which really is the one to have. It's in a nice, neutral colour that will always look fresh and never out of vogue, with a very '80's red carpet!
I can deliver this car anywhere within mainland uk (at a cost, obviously), although I'd rather you viewed first just so you're sure you know what you're getting, but I'm happy to answer any questions as honestly as I possibly can.
Cheers
Mike

One of the best hot hatches you can buy. Had 14 205 GTI's over the years. What is the rear beam like mate, any adverse camber on the rear wheels or knocking from the back when you go over bumps?

Worth a try here as I new the temptation of seeing another 205 GTI would pull me in......again!
Would you be interested in my 1999 BMW Compact plus some cash from me to you?
Bit about my BMW......
1.9 8v (M43 Engine)
4 Previous owners
10 Months MOT
Tax till end of September
Full BMW service history with heaps of receipts.
Lowered on Koni's by 35mm
E46 Coupe alloys with great tyres all round
M3 rear lights
Alpine Headunit with Ipod connection, this connection is in the glove box so out of sight. As I love my music she can come with a parcel shelf made for the Compact which houses 2 x 8" co'ax speakers in, plus an expensive amp and sub, or you can just have the normal parcel shelf which has not been touched for speakers.
She has....
Power steering
ABS
Traction Control
Heated front seats
Elec windows
Elec heated mirrors
Remote central locking
Alarm
Airbags etc
Lovely to drive and had a full service just over 2,000 miles ago with full invoice. This also included a full coolant flush, new thermostat, front discs, front pads, rear pads and the usual service items like oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs etc.
She is a great runabout as in MPG. I put £62 in her from empty and she will do 405 miles to this and this is around town. On a long run the best I have had was 494 miles to a tank so she is very good on petrol.
In excellent condition but she is 12 years old so has the odd mark here and there but nothing bad. Interior is like new.
Everything works as it should.
Can get you pics if need be.
