Beautifull 1972 mk1, pre-facelift capri (new pics 16/12/10)
It pains me to do this but I have just been told that as of october the 15th my capri will be homeless as the inlaws are getting a second car which will be going in te garage
If the car doesnt make what I want for it, I've already spoken to a company regarding storage...expensive yes but it'll pay off in years to come
Now, onto the car :
1972 ford capri, the car is the pre-facelift model and is a 1600xl
she's painted in daytona yellow and sports a mint, black vinyl roof.
The car has covered 19,000 miles from new and I have ALL documentation to prove this.
I have the original bill of sale, all MOT'S from new and the original owners hand book.
I am also only the 3rd owner on the log book.
The car is not mint BUT she's as near as damn it for a 39 year old car. There is a tiny amount of SURFACE rust on the rear arches and some rust around the front panel where it meets the front wings
The car has had a flash in down the passenger side, this was not due to rust, but because the car sat in a dry garage for 20 years untouched and people brushing past had worn the paint thin on the front wing.
The engine, gearbox, diff and all electrics on this car work perfectly. The engine runs near silent!
Any questions, just ask but please if you dont think the car is worth the asking price don't contact me and don't fill the thread with shitty comment's.
The price is £7500 ovno
Now I'll let the pictures do the talking
I have had this car up for sale in the past but removed it because of timewasters expecting to get it for nothing because ''it's not an escort''
The car is currently sorned but there will be 12 month's tax (free road tax) and 12 months test put on for the new owner
This car is my prized possesion and I'll be fighting back the tears if she sell's.
Anyone interested can PM or call me on :

Many thanks
Karl

Thanks for the comments guys!
I honestly would rather sell my daily driver than this...it's one of those things I'll forever regret selling but she doesn't get used and if she goes to a good home I'll be happy

your gonna hate me but i think its over priced by about 1500 quid. ok its low mileage with great history and is seriously clean but it aint mint is it plus its only a xl 1.6 and pre facelift.......... i love your car and the colour but knowing that my old man has a white mk1 facelift capri which started life as an xl too but now runs a tuned 2ltr pinto plus better wheels ect and the car has history to back up its 35k from new i wouldnt expect to get any more than 6k so why should yours lol
i know the market for these is picking up but they aint 7.5k for basic models yet imho

Thats the price I had in mind to be fair...You're rite in that moddified examples dont fetch as much
This one isn't 100% mint but its nearly there....difference with the other lad's old man's car is that this car is all original
The mother inlaws just bought a new clio sport so the father inlaw wants the capri out
Not to worry though, if it doesnt sell it's going into classic car storage on the 27th

you did say you wanted some constructive critisism so i replied with my views, i do hear you on the standard v modified value depending of course on how mint it is when modified and what has been modified.
i think your car is lovely honest i do and yeah it is worth more than most you see these days for sale but imho it just sounds abit to much, however i have no doubt you will sell it and good luck with the sale, i hope it goes to a good home

Wasn't having a dig at you buddy. I'm gratefull for the replys, just wanted to see if people thought the price was someware near...
It's good that I'm getting a range of opinions as I'll have to either decide to lock it away until the value comes up or sell it for less.

if you can buddy i`d seriously recommend you keep it locked away as you will regret it, i know my dad will never sell his and i wish i never sold my mk1 escort a few years ago but i was scared some cunt would nick it as i used it daily.

Car now has a full 12 months MOT
She sailed through with NO advisorys !
The tester commented on how mint the car is underneath, said it was so rare to see one that hadnt been welded and didn't even need any
Really considering keeping it now, thouroughly enjoyed driving it the last couple of days!
