My son have got a complete focus st170 and we are going to swop engine and box into his 2.0 ltr focus. Wondering if anyone has done it and how much of the st do we need to use. Obviously engine/box loom and ecu. But do I need to chance the whole loom or just engine bay. Also anything else we need to swop over.

We dropped an ST170 motor into an Escort GTi, dumped the vvt and run it on a 2 litre DEEP Ecu with the GTi inlet manifold. Don't recall if we used the Mondeo, Focus engine loom or the GTi's, trying to check now for you

180bhp with a few additional bits still to be added.

 

Apparently it was done with the Escorts engine loom but with a few pin swaps at the ECU.

 

Sounds handy enough. I've been told I'll have to change petrol tank and fuel line aswell. Seem a lot !!!

 

Yes fuel lines and pump need to be changed as they are different. The st170 has a variable output pump with a supply line only, no return.
