Are storm still about? I need a single wiper conversion for my focus. Companies house check doesn't look good.

I'd imagine they went out of business late 90s/early 2000s when it went out of fashion? We used to buy second hand linkages and make our own back in the 90s. I imagine people still want them for track cars etc?

Yeah I wouldn't dream of one on a road car. Where my cage ties to the front top mounts it has come through the bulk head and is fouling the mechanism 😳

Could you somehow mount a rear wiper mechanism instead?

I've been thinking about doing that but I think I may have sourced a kit. I was thinking about a rear motor set up, it should have the same sweep.

After trying and failing to make my own, many years ago, I read somewhere on the net how to calculate where to move the ball joint on the linkage to lengthen the sweep...
Probably quite easy to work out though, if you paid attention in your maths class! Well, that's me knackered then!!

Ended up buying one in the end...

I had one on a mk3 astra years ago, along with a top and bottom sun strip, leaving about 18" to see out of lol.

My
Mates rst still has it fitted from back in the early 2000s. He regrets it now as welded and filled the other spindle hole :-(

I am looking at getting one for my escos track car will probably butcher the standard mechanism to get it to work, also got to work out how the wiper motor works on 2 speeds and returns to the center.

i got one from Wipex back when i had a Euro'd Punto on the road (it had a smoothed scuttle and the single wiper was tucked away out of sight). They look like they're still on the go.

I modded a few back in the day and my mk4 cabby still has one on, you just need to add about 10 mm to the main shaft on the motor and it gives a full sweep, I think a bit of the mounting bracket needs a trim for clearance, I imagine most would be the same
