Default Advice - rough repair cost - BMW 330d

I've been offered a 56 plate (e90) 330d m sport auto (saloon) that has been in an accident. It's not an insurance catorgory write-off and is HPI clear.

Is a nice spec car- has the nicer wheels, full (unmarked) black leather, I drive with widescreen nav ect.

It retails at around £6100, private sale £5650.

The drivers air bag has deployed, needs a screen, bonnet, front bumper (complete), intercooler, rad, a/c condenser, power steering cooling pipes, slam panel and all the plastic bits in between.

The parts are probably do-able for around £1000 - £1200. The only bit that worries me is the airbag bit. Do I need a new control module as it has been deployed? And crash sensors?

I can get the car for £1500, and wouldn't do it to sell for the profit but to use as a decent car.

Any comments appreciated

ddepends if you have the time and inclination to fix it and spend time finding the parts at the right price
I bought a mondeo ST tdci in 2010 with similar damage and repaired it myself bar the painting, cost me about 5.5k all in where as a similar car would have cost me about 9k to buy undamaged.

Plenty of them around so parts shouldn't be a problem, I used to buy cars like this all the time to fix and sell on, it's the unseen problems that catch you out like if a chassis leg is out of alignment or something the bumper and bonnet etc won't line up.
Air bags been deployed and they run a separate ecu, once triggered some cars need a new ecu and need to be coded to the car or ordered from the manufacturer to that car.
2-2.5k maybe on that car for parts/paint etc would be my estimate if doing it myself

dont forget youll likely need pretensioners etc etc for the aibag deployment,
some of the bmws require a new ecu once triggered which are body specific,
some will just require a code reset.

It all depends on how much you can fix yourself and getting the parts at a reasonable price. At £1500 to buy it I would say its worth it providing you are prepared for some hard work. If you have to pay a bodyshop etc the price could start to go up quite a lot.

id want to put that on a jig to make sure its not bent tbh.

if its touched the chassis leg you're into a whole new level of expense.
