Hi mate, to cut a long story short, have a quick read of this :

https://passionford.com/forum/genera...e-problem.html

Basically i have blocked all the outlets on the master cylinder and the pedal is rock hard, so i know thats ok.

Which means the problem is in the ABS block ( the light is always on ), i have tried a new block but still get the same problem. I dont understand what is fucked or how it got that way.

I was hoping the jon@work fella could fire some tests at me to eliminate some of the parts.

Im thinking if i can get the light off the brakes will bleed .

I hope this might help. Most of it is to check the sensors but there is a bit for the electro valves.

Its only a bit of info but it might help. Check to see if your relays are ok and that you have lives and earths going to them. Have you replaced the other part of the abs system that sits on the passenger side of the engine bay. Ive got some wiring diagrams too if you need them.

Quick update.

ABS light was on do to a dodgy connection on the drivers side front sensor, so cleaned the connector up and got rid of the light. All the other test were fine

Bled it for the 100th time and still no pedal

So only thing i could think of trying now was to put the old pads back in and try to bleed it with them in.

Stuck the front ones in, pumped the pedal a couple of times to push the pistons out and hey presto the pedal is right at the top and solid as fuck, didnt even need to bleed them.

Im absolutely done in and cant explain why the fuck any of the above has happened.

So looks like im going to have to get a couple of mm skimmed of my new pads before i can put them back in.

How bazaar !!!!!

Cheers for your help Glen, much appreciated

Mad mate lol at least its all sorted.

I know when my abs light came on last time,i had a spare sensor and i plugged it into 3 of the sensor wires and the light didnt go out.I was that pissed off i thought well theres no point trying the osr one.

It was the osr one which was at fault lol.

The back sensors have a piece of alloy tube in the sensor so when you tighting it down it doesnt crack the sensor. This is what corrodes over time causing the sensors to crack then the water gets in the sensor and fooks them.
