Default What Tyres...

Ok, pretty soon i am going to need 4x tyres on the car.

Its an Audi A3 TDI Quattro. 225/45/17 pirelli P6000 on it at the mo

I only really use the car for commuting 20 miles a day, so dont need 888's etc

but at after something with reasonable economy, wet and dry grip

Budget is around £100 a tyre.

So far Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 2's come in looking pretty good at £105 each. fuel eco C and wet grip A, 69dB

or Avon ZV5 £103 each eco C wet grip C and 72dB

according to etyres website.

any other recommendations? cheers!

the better they give the rating for fuel the worse they are for wet weather grip due to them using less resistance stuff on the tyres to give them better fuel economy

they did a test on fifth gear and part worns stopped better than the brand new eco tyres by some margin

Don't bother with the Goodyears. I found them very soft and have next to no feel! One also went out of shape!

Got Hankooks on the Mondeo at the moment and quite happy with them!

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, they are OEM on that chassis and are asymetric as required. A good all-rounder IME

And backed up by some actual measurements http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article...-Tyre-Test.htm

Cheers guys.

Czech: looked at the link and the bridgestone scores 71%, however the similar priced Vredestein Ultrac Vorti scored 93%. but i doubt the local guy can get them.

ill phone up later and get a price on the bridgestones.

thanks again!

Toyo t1r's are a cracking tyre for little money. Approx £60 a corner. Perfect for what you need.

You'll find the rears at least will wear oddly and cause noise and vibration if you dont
