Hi all.

I have a 2wd saph cossie, lowered a little on Konis. Just bought a set of alloys and need 2 new tyres. Question is what size? Wheels are 7 x 17. They currently have 215/40 17 on them. When I enquired about replacement this morning the guy said 205/45 17 were the equivalent size as he didn't have 215/40's in stock. I thought the profile went up and down with the diameter, not the width?

Short version, what size tyres should I be using?

215 do not use 205.
I have 18's on mine with 215/35/18

 

Guess I should also ask if 215/40 is the correct size in the first place?

Most people on 17's on a saph run 40 but you can run 35 but its a harder/harsher ride 215/40/17 is fine

I used 215/40/17 on mine Toyo T1R's good alround package.
Been on 18"s but found the best ride was either std or 17"s

 

i run 215/40/17 , can't say about ride as its coil overs but its not that bad tbh, tyres dunlop sp9000 i think lol there ok but my little pinto can spin them up so would not use on a cosworth tbh
