im thinking of giving my onion a new look as its been in its current guise for 5yrs or so, not changing the body work or colour sceme from standard as it looks great as it is.

basicly ive got an idea in my head about what rims would look fantastic and retain some oe quality, however i need to convert my standard 4 stud hubs to 5 stud (5x112 merc)

in what ways would this be possible? hub change? hub adapters?

two options mate ,

hub adapters , but youy going to be looking at adding at least 15-20mm with the adapter , so that will have to be taken into account regards the offset of the wheel of choice ,


or , have your 4 stud flanges welded up , and then faced clean in a lathe , then re drilled for the pcd of choice , you will have to see if the outsidfe diameter of your flanges leave enough clearance for the new pcd reuired ,

any compotent engineering shop should be able to do either bud ,

fair play , tis easy to follow the crowds and stay with safe wheel choices ,


hence why im going the 5 stud route meself lol !

Simple solution, apparently the mk2 mondeo hubs are a direct change for the mk3 ones so if the bearing dimensions are the same then you could be onto a winner

on the other hand, this was also a way to change the sierra hubs over to 5 stud but there are 2 different sizes so make certain you have the correct things to start off with as you don't wantto open stuff up and then ind it's different

or even worse find out that the parts you need are no longer available to be able to fit
