Default axle spacers and lowering

Hi guys,i have a MK5 fiesta zetec-s,im going to be lowering the car by 40mm next week,it has 15" alloys on,i have just put some 5mm spacers on the rear as it looks a bit "tucked in",it still looks a bit odd though but i dont have longer studs so i wont be going any bigger with the spacers,im thinking of getting some axle spacers 12.5mm,will the car be ok (not scrub) with the 40mm drop and the 12.5 spacers, and where is best to get the spacers from, cheers

Ford do spacers. They're 12.5mm too, slot of the fiesta st guys fit them (including me). Not too sure if they'll fit a mk5, but have a look on the zsoc forums and see if they suggest anything.

Lowering 40mm over 12.5's on a mk5 I would think would possibly rub. Personally I'd just lower and get Escos wheels. Mk5 zs's look ace on those!

I had a mk6 fiesta and I wasn't keen on the axle spacers, they upset the balance of the car in my opinion. Made it feel very twitchy under heavy braking.

mine is a MK5,i have heard they respond well to the spacers and give a more planted feel in corners, for me its mainly cosmetic though as i feel my new alloys look a bit tucked in,cheers for the replies guys
