Shape is similar if not the same, but the handle mounting plate is different inside the door.

 

Exterior shape is identical i believe, and as said interior mounting plate is different, although if you buy from Ford i believe the MK4 door is the door they give you and you get a conversion plate for the inner handle to mount up properly (my cabby has one of these)
