A friend of mine here in Bulgaria has a s2. He was runing at 8psi as the car was cutting off when 10psi or more were applied. On friday I received a superchipped ecu and when we tested the car - OMG it cuts off again at about 12psi. What could be the problem, pls help

 

Are you sure that the ECU is chipped with a decent chip to allow higher boost? Have you uprated the actuator? Is your fuel pump in good order putting out the pressure it should? Check all jubilee clips to make sure they are tightened properly and that no air leakage at high boost?

 

the ecu u have just bought isn't chipped!

if when u accelerate the rev counter drops to zero! then u lift off the throttle and re accelerate it goes again then drops off thats the ecu cutting the engine off as your running to much boost on a standard ecu!!!!

 

I bought the ecu from a PF user. It is claimed to come from a 200+bhp s2. I opened the ecu today and the chip is really not the standart. It is supposed to be a superchips item. Is there any other reason then high boost that could cut the engine off?

 

Hello mate i have had my rs superchipped but mine also wont go over 12-13 psi but this is the way it was made it all depends what type of chip you have and what stage it is also when you fit a superchip you are supposed to buy and fit a -31 actuator otherwise you are just supplying extra fuel without the extra boost needed if you have not already got one go and buy one, get it fitted then get it setup on the rollers you will be suprised at the difference.
