Default ABS pump on Escort cos

Is the ABS pump supposed to be active when the ignition is switched off?
Doesn't seem right and could account for my flat battery problem!!

yes mate it should be off when the ignition switch is on the off position and mostly when you car is locked for the night so yeah it may be the cause of your flat battery
