rs 2000 engine
just got an rs2000 engine out of a mk5 escort, mite put it in a mk2 fiesta, so whats the best way to squeeze that horse power out of it, i was thinking about putting motorbike carbs on it but what kind of bike do you get them off of & where do i get a manifold & linkages etc from? any other mods you lot would recomend, & would you change the gearbox to an escort rs turbo?...... chears in advance

there have been rs2k lumps into mk2 fiesta before but not many, also, there have been turbod ones but again, not many!
the main thing with them is theyre very heavy engines which is a light fwd car is a bit shit!
if you were going to put the engine into a mk2, think you'd be on your own with the engine mount, im sure it wouldnt be too hard to work out if youre good with that kind of thing. if you went ahead with it id definatly use an rsturbo gearbox, ive got a 1.8 zetec lump running about 130 in mine and traction is a bit of an issue (even with 15" goodyear F1s).
as for bike carbs, seems like the new 'thing' to be doing, very good results to be had from them. theres a few companies who will do the conversion for you, the search button is your friend.
if it were me id flog the rs2k lump, get hold of a zetec engine and drop that in instead. not as different or unusual but if your after a quick motor is the easiest route. i did mine in 4 days, a day of which was spent trying to figure out the wiring (15 minute job when you know how though...lol) and another day was spent changing waterpump/timing belt/cams with the engine in situ. its a weekends work when you know what your doing.

zetecs are easier to get in but the rs lump i still believe is a good lump.
maily coz its got huge ports in the head and 150bhp as standard.
motorbike boddies should see it up to 200bhp with the right management etc etc..
turbo would be bonkers and would show big figures.
its heavier than zetec but still good
